The activated partial thromboplastin time test is responsible for examining the coagulation factors VII, X, V, II, and I.

What is the coagulation profile test?
A coagulation profile test can contain several other tests that measure prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), platelets, and fibrinogen to assess bleeding problems.
Prothrombin is a protein produced by the liver. Prothrombin time helps us to know the time taken by our blood to clot. It gets prolonged if someone has hemophilia, liver illness, or is taking blood-thinning medicine. Prothrombin time results are impacted by prothrombin protein deficiency. Hemophilia A or B, Factor XI deficiency, von Willebrand disease, Factor XII deficiency, having lupus anticoagulant. - If both prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time are extended, you can have the following problems:
The defective factor I, II, V or X, liver disease, acute disseminated intravascular coagulation.
