Dr. Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale, is a world-renowned Cardio Thoracic Surgeon with more than two decades of experience. A prolific surgeon, Dr. Gokhale is credited with being the first heart surgeon in India to perform a Heart Lung transplantation, and also a Heart Kidney combined transplantation. He is also the first surgeon in AP and Telangana, to implant a ventricular assist device as a bridge before heart transplantation. He has performed over 15000 open heart surgeries, 29 heart transplantations with  high success rate. He is considered a pioneer in minimally invasive cardio thoracic surgeries for multiple bypass surgeries, valve replacements, and closure of holes in the heart. Dr. Gopala Krishna Gokhale is an alumnus of Guntur Medical College, Guntur, where he studied MBBS, and MS General Surgery, before completing his MCh in Cardiothoracic Surgery from CMC, Vellore along with a DNB in Cardiothoracic Surgery from the National Board of Examinations. Dr. Gokhale received Fellowships in Heart Transplantation, Lung Transplantation, and Cardiothoracic Surgery from Sydney, Australia, and also holds a fellowship from the Barnes-Jewish Hospital, USA. He is a recipient of many accolades and awards including the Padmasri from the Government of India for his many services to society. He is currently working as a Consultant Cardio Thoracic Transplant and Minimal Access Cardiac Surgeon at Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
